Simone Lauchart is Vice President, Head of Project and Portfolio Management of Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease.

About Simone

Simone is responsible for advancement of Alexion’s pipeline portfolio, managing 40+ programs from research to lifecycle. She has extensive expertise in all areas of strategy, project, and portfolio management as well as organizational and governance design and execution. Prior to joining Alexion, she spent 20+ years at Baxter/Baxalta/Shire (now Takeda), in roles with increasing responsibility in program and portfolio management and business operations.

Simone holds a PhD in Technical Science and a MSc in Biochemistry, Biotechnology and Food Chemistry from Technical University of Graz in Austria, and an MBA from Danube University Krems in Austria.

In the beginning we were told she would likely not be with us for very long, so seeing her here is a miracle.”
